Celebrating the Early Opening of the New Wellesley High SchoolMarch 6, 2012Cambridge MA, February 28, 2012–SMMA’s Wellesley High School design team joined town officials, students, faculty and residents to celebrate the opening of Wellesley’s new 280,000 square foot high school. As class of ’40 and ’41 alumni ceremoniously turned out the lights in the old gymnasium, more than 1400 students walked from the old gymnasium to begin school in the adjacent new building. Scheduled to open in September, the new $115M high school was completed six months early and on budget.

EMC Opens SMMA-Designed Cloud Data Center in Durham, North CarolinaDecember 15, 2011A new 450,000 square foot Center of Excellence and Cloud Data Center, designed by SMMA for EMC Corporation, recently began operations in Durham, North Carolina. EMC Headquarters Campus Earns LEED Gold CertificationDecember 9, 2011The 650,000 square foot corporate headquarters of EMC Corporation in Hopkinton, Massachusetts recently earned LEED Gold – Existing Buildings certification. The LEED certification follows a multi-year collaboration between EMC’s Global Real Estate Facilities Department, EMC employees and SMMA’s integrated team of architects and engineers serving as advisor and sustainability consultant.

SMMA Selected by St. Vincent Hospital for new Cancer Center October 3, 2011Saint Vincent Hospital, a member of at Vanguard Health Systems, selected SMMA to provide architectural and interior design services for a new Cancer Center to be built in downtown Worcester, MA. The project will be delivered using an integrated delivery model combined with use of a comprehensive 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) design and construction model. SMMA completed design for a new 30,000 square foot regional headquarters and executive briefing center for VCE, the Virtual Computing Environment Company, in Marlborough, MA.
