Framingham State Dining Commons Ready for Service

The addition to the McCarthy Dining Commons at Framingham State University, a collaboration between SMMA and Erland Construction, is nearing completion and is expected to go into service next week, just a couple of weeks into the new school year. The project was under an extremely aggressive schedule, beginning construction before the university's 2013 commencement exercises in the spring.

The elegant design takes advantage of the dining hall's traditionally central role in campus life as a place of daily gatherings and special communal events. It serves as a "jewel box" of an addition by freeing this primary space of its "saddlebag" of services (toilets and storage rooms.)
