Marie Fitzgerald, SMMA board member and Director of Interior Design practice, has been named the 2015 recipient of the International Interior Design Association New England Leadership Award. As the highest individual honor bestowed by the New England Chapter of the IIDA, the award recognizes Marie’s contributions to the interior design profession and her impact on the New England design community.
SMMA's Philip J. Poinelli, FAIA, ALEP, has been appointed to the International Board of Directors of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International, now called the A4LE. An active member since 2007, Phil’s previous roles in the organization have included Vice President of the Northeast Region, Regional President-Elect, Regional President, and Regional Immediate Past President.
SMMA is pleased to announce the appointment of Carlos Charry, Director of Information Technology, as principal. Carlos has been an invaluable asset during his 20 years with SMMA, ensuring that the firm remains technologically current as an early adopter of innovative software solutions and IT practices. Under his guidance, SMMA's team of IT professionals provides the support necessary to allow the firm to achieve better design using the latest technological tools, and continue servicing clients at the highest level possible.
More than 200 people attended the October open house at One Federal Street to celebrate the new shared office floor completed for Community Catalyst, Health Law Advocates, and Health Care for All. SMMA was recognized in the formal remarks for producing a dynamic environment within the confines of a not-for-profit-client budget.
