Boston Celtics to get updated facilities

Cambridge, MA – February 7, 2007 – The Boston Celtics’ 1,200 sf Facilities Room at the TD Banknorth Garden will soon sport spa-like amenities.

Design firm Symmes Maini & McKee Associates, Inc. is updating the sauna room, towel room, and shower facilities with contemporary lighting, redesigned sinks, refinished light-green porcelain tiles, and new countertops. Construction will begin after the current NBA season and be completed by the 2007-2008 home opener.

SMMA previously redesigned the Celtics training and practice facility at The Sports Authority Training Center at HealthPoint, a wellness and fitness center in Waltham, MA, by upgrading the basketball court, locker room, training room, and General Manager Danny Ainge’s office.
