Hicks, Scott to Present Projects at AIA New England Conference

SMMA’s design for a rooftop field and parking garage for Worcester Polytechnic Institute will be the opening session of the AIA New England Regional Conference & Design Awards Program on October 5 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Worcester. At the same event, John Scott of SMMA's Health and Science Studio will make a presentation on St. Vincent Cancer Center in Worcester, designed by SMMA.

Framingham State Dining Commons Ready for Service

The addition to the McCarthy Dining Commons at Framingham State University, a collaboration between SMMA and Erland Construction, is nearing completion and is expected to go into service next week, just a couple of weeks into the new school year. The project was under an extremely aggressive schedule, beginning construction before the university's 2013 commencement exercises in the spring.

This is a growing national initiative that provides a consistent, national framework with simple metrics and a standardized reporting format to help firms evaluate the impact design decisions have on an individual project's energy performance.
