Project Description: SMMA is providing planning, architecture, engineering, and interior design for Quincy's new 368,000 sf, 1500-student high school. It is designed for phased construction to replace an existing facility constructed in 1924 and 1965 to which it will be temporarily linked.
Almost 50% of the property is protected wetlands and off-limits for development, and a significant design challenge is ensuring that construction and demolition do not interrupt the ongoing academic program.
Once the new facilities are completed, the original structures will be unlinked to serve as the City's school administration offices.
