Providence College - Fitness Center FieldProvidence, Rhode Island |
OverviewThe new artificial turf field at Providence College is part of a series of planned improvements to the athletic facilities on campus. Located adjacent to both the Alumni Gymnasium and Peterson Field house, the new field is designed for both varsity field hockey and lacrosse as well as recreational sports. The facility includes seating for 500 spectators and dual level sports lighting for nighttime use. The design takes advantage of the sloping site to provide approximately 95 structured parking spaces beneath the northern half of the field. This structured parking replaces the parking displaced by the new field. Construction was sequenced to facilitate upgrades and required relocation of a number of utility lines from the campus central energy plant. |
