SMMA’s K-12 practice dates back decades and comprises more than 40 elementary, middle and high schools. We have a store of intellectual capital about this project type that few firms can match. Our staff – including an in-house Educational Planner – is skilled at adapting this knowledge to the needs of each project and gaining consensus among administration, faculty, parents, neighbors and greater communities. We synthesize the latest thinking in collaborative student-centered and project-based learning spaces. An interdisciplinary firm structure brings together planners, architects and engineers under a single roof and with a common purpose – maximum return on a municipality’s most important investment: 21st Century schools and those who use them every day.
