Charlestown's Hood Park Reaches New Milestone

100 Hood Park Drive Charlestown MA

SMMA has been engaged with the City of Boston, working on the redevelopment of Hood Park to transform the former Charlestown industrial zone into an urban destination, comprised of an attractive multi-use avenue enriched with bike paths, parks, and landscaped sidewalks. Most recently, the team celebrated reaching a new milestone with construction having completed for the eponymous building at 100 Hood Park Drive

The new seven-story building at 100 Hood Park Drive will contain over 50,000 square feet of lab space, 24,000 square feet of retail space, 900 parking spots, and more than 40 bike storage spaces.

The garage includes a solar array on the rooftop and will be equipped with electric vehicle charging stations in 50 of the parking spaces. Boasting significant technical flexibility, the garage itself can accommodate a six-story expansion for additional lab and office space, depending on developing tenancy needs. To maximize available space for tenants, the garage floors can be infilled, or additional levels can be added above.

Hood Park Drive is a newly developed street with 100 Hood Park Drive serving as the main focal point. The master plan fosters a relationship between the garage, the adjacent historic powerhouse, and the rapidly-expanding public open spaces. We cannot wait to see the rest of the development continue to unfold.
