Darling and McCormack Announced as Principals at SMMA

SMMA has announced two promotions to the role of principal: architect and Design Technology Manager Dave Darling, and Director of Administration Heather McCormack.
The addition to the McCarthy Dining Commons at Framingham State University, a collaboration between SMMA and Erland Construction, is nearing completion and is expected to go into service next week, just a couple of weeks into the new school year. The project was under an extremely aggressive schedule, beginning construction before the university's 2013 commencement exercises in the spring.
SMMA is now listed as a signatory of the American Institute of Architects' 2030 Commitment. This is a growing national initiative that provides a consistent, national framework with simple metrics and a standardized reporting format to help firms evaluate the impact design decisions have on an individual project's energy performance.
SMMA's Lorraine Finnegan will be one of 16 women design professionals to participate in 'Mentoring One-On-One', an event on September 19 sponsored by Women in Design Boston.
