Together with the project team—SMMA and Columbia Construction Company—The Salvation Army of Massachusetts celebrated the completion of their new addition and renovations at their Cambridge Corps location. In attendance were civic and community leaders, along with local Salvation Army Divisional Leaders, Majors David and Naomi Kelly.
The Biomedical MEMS and Sensor Conference, a national gathering of MEMS research leaders, featured an update on the new Richard Desich SMART Commercialization Center for Microsystems and its advanced design for shared lab and clean room facilities designed by SMMA.
SMMA and EMC Corporation were selected as finalists for the 2012 Green Enterprise Information Technology Awards, presented by the Uptime Institute, recognizing energy achievement and design innovation on EMC’s new Center of Excellence in Durham, NC. The annual Uptime Institute GEIT Awards showcase organizations that are pioneering energy-efficiency improvements in data center design and operations.
Wellesley High School won a 2012 Green Difference Award in the Outstanding Green School category during ceremonies held today in Nurses Hall at the Massachusetts State House. SMMA submitted the project on behalf of the Wellesley School Department. The Green Difference Awards are given annually by Project Green Schools in recognition of outstanding environmental leadership in Massachusetts schools and communities.
